San Marino

San Marino is a small, affluent city in Los Angeles County, California. Incorporated in 1913, the City founders designed the community to be uniquely residential, with expansive properties surrounded by beautiful gardens, wide streets, and well maintained parkways. The population was 13,147 at the 2010 census.

In 2010, Forbes Magazine ranked the city’s 91108 ZIP code as the 63rd most expensive area to live in the United States. Most homes were built between 1920 and 1950. The median list price of a single family home is US$1,987,500, as of July 2010.

San Marino is regarded as having one of the best performing schools in the Greater Los Angeles area. All of its public schools are distinguished as California “Blue Ribbon” schools. The city includes the estate of Henry E. Huntington, who made a fortune in the development of Southern California and opened the library and art collections in his large new-Palladian mansion to the public in 1919. This mansion is best known as the Huntington Library. San Marino real estate has beautiful lawns and a variety of house sizes.
